Birthdays, Birthdays, Birthdays....

A lot of birthdays in the month of December. Kary's dad, Mike celebrated his birthday on the 1st.
Our nephew, Matthew Ferrari, turned 7 on the 19th.

Zachary turned 10 months on the 18th... He's had many milestones. He is fully walking, standing up on his own with no assistance, says "Mama" and has 6 teeth with 2 more on the way!

Nathan's brother, Hosh, turned the big 35! We're excited that he's the first one to reach this milestone.

Our nephew, Jacob McAtee, celebrated his 8th birthday on the 1st. His Wii party was a big hit.

Grandma Ferrari celebrated her 80th birthday on the 19th. A big surprise party was thrown for her on the 20th and so many family members and friends from her days as a Kappa Kappa Gamma at San Jose State (Go Spartans!) and Grandma's friends from Bellarmine and Santa Clara University came for the celebration.

Zachary is officially WALKING

So our lives have completely become complicated.... Zachary is officially walking and he's only 9 months.... YIKES!! He's been tackling with it all week but it finally clicked yesterday when he started chasing Tyler all around the house. He does need help to stand up (but he'll use the wall or even a little block) but when he does stand up, he's off. We thought for sure he would take longer than Tyler (Tyler walked at 10 months). The only person that absolutely loves that he walks is his older brother. Tyler loves running around him and says, "Zachary come get me!" We know, it's only the beginning! Our next adventure= climbing and running!

Tyler rides his bike with training wheels

Our little man is growing up. He finally started riding his bike and he absolutely loves it. After a couple of days of getting the hang of it, he actually may be ready for the training wheels to go off. Tyler is super excited and asks everyday if he can ride it but only after he's told "no" about playing Wii Lego Star Wars.

Turkey Trot 2008

We've participated in the annual Shasta Regional Medical Center Turkey Trot every year since moving to Redding (our 3rd one) on Thanksgiving Day morning. It's a tradition in the Ferrari family for our children to partake in the "Dieselhorse Dash" which they all love. The girls are now too old because it's from ages 0-8, but the little boys absolutely loved it. This year, Zachary and Jaxon were on their own in the 0-2 division, while Tyler and Jonathan participated in the 3-year old division and Jacob was in the 7-8 year old division. It was pretty hard since we had to get up at the crack of dawn. (We have to be at the bridge by 7:30am- a little too early for us)
Hence, the no makeup, wake up out of bed look. Did we mention it was 40 degrees!! Tyler was so excited he got his Turkey chocolate sucker and because he's such a superstar- we of course had to let him eat it, even though it was 9am in the morning. Zachary pretty much didn't have a clue what was going on, so he just sat quietly in his stroller while we strolled him along. He too got a sucker but he was generous enough to give it to mommy and daddy (which we were glad to take it since he offered). After the Turkey Trot we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Ferrari's with the rest of the family- all 22 of us!! It's always a great time spending time with family. To a great day to be thankful for and a great praise to A. Lincoln for declaring Thanksgiving Day as the 4th Thursday of the month.

Zachary is 9 months.

So our little guy is officially 9 months old! Time sure flies when you're having fun. He's getting so big! He has four top teeth, two bottom teeth, can almost stand up on his own from a sitting position, and taking a couple of steps without the help of furniture... which means walking is just around the corner. Translation= we're in for it.
He loves to sleep... He is still taking 3 naps a day and still going to bed at 8pm and waking up at 9 or 10am. How did we luck out that both boys absolutely love to sleep. That trait is definitely a Ferrari. He is such a happy baby and takes a lot for him to get upset. Even when Tyler tackles him, he seems to love it!! He's around 28 inches and 16 lbs. He still has that gorgeous red hair, blue eyes and the cutest dimples. It's amazing how two children can be complete opposites yet so alike. There's still a chance that it may change to green........ but either way he's our little monkey!

Can't cousins be brothers?

It's so nice to see that our boys and our nephews think of each other as brothers. When Johnny boy found out Sarah was pregnant, she asked him if he wanted a little sister or brother. His response, "Mommy I already have a little brother. I want a sister." We were all very confused because Jonathan was the youngest. Jonathan then replied, "My little brother is Bubby." (Bubby is Tyler's nickname that the family calls him). The relationship that the boys have is so precious. They are constantly looking out for one another and they know it's their job to protect one another. We are so blessed to have our boys grow up near their aunts, uncles, and grandparents. When the boys can have any friend over for a play date, they usually pick each other over friends. The daily conversations that they have on the phone "What are you doing? Are you playing Stars Wars? Do you want to come and play?" is so cute and brings tears in our eyes. Our children are so amazing!

My Boys in Action

Our boys are growing too fast!! It feels like yesterday they came into this world. Both boys love to sleep... and will sleep anywhere. We enjoy our mornings since we are not morning people. Zachary's front four teeth just appeared about a week ago and he is already starting to walk. He takes about 4 steps on his own... a little too early for an eight month old. (And we thought Tyler was early when he started walking at 10 months.) Zachary loves food... he'll eat anything. He's our little eater.

Tyler absolutely adores his brother and his best friend is Jonathan, his cousin. They are two peas in a pod! When he is not running around the house playing Star Wars, he's trying wrestle and steam rolls over Zachy (his nickname). Tyler is growing a little too fast for us. He tells us that he is 4 not 3. We are so proud of him. He loves to pray and loves to learn about Jesus. We just have to be prepared that his prayers take a little time (he always ask to protect everyone by name.) It's so adorable.

Tyler and Zachary visit Hawes Farm

Tyler had so much fun at the pumpkin patch. He got to go on a hayride, go through a hay and corn maze, jump on a balloon trampoline, pick pumpkins, climb a hay pyramid, see pigs race, and pet tons of animals. Zachary on the other hand was asleep the entire time. He'll understand it better next year. Tyler loves it so much he ask to go all the time and thinks it's open all season.

The Aunts visit us from Austin, TX

We had a great time visiting with Aunt Shelly and Aunt Dana from Austin, TX (Go Longhorns!) this week. They are from the Wardell side of the family. We did a girls day and made silver jewerly and then we (the adults without children) had the opportunity to go to a leadership conference in Portland, Oregon. We had a great time. It was so great to see everyone honor the military and men and women who fought for our freedom. We also got to hear Rick Green speak from Texas on the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and that this country was founded on God and that 95% of the men who signed the Declaration of Independence were men who had faith and read the Bible. Amazing!!

All the Ferrari grandboys definitely gave the Aunts a run for their money..... but they are so cute they still wanted to take all the kiddos back to Austin. Us parents voted against that. If they took them back to Austin then may end up being "Longhorns" instead of "Beavers."

Zachary learns how to stand!

So it's another milestone for ZR. Not only does he have his two bottom teeth and crawling but the little monkey learned how to pull himself up standing. Now only if he could change his own diapers. Our only problem now is lowering the crib again and once he is standing- he doesn't want to get down. He's also manage to this on the ottoman as well as our legs, the couch and anything else he can climb on. The only one gene we don't want him to have like Nathan's is the one that he starts walking by 7 1/2 months.

Tyler is officially 3 years old!

It's official....... Our little Bubby turned 3 on Sept. 6th (the same birthday as his Aunt Dina and his great great Grandpa Ferrari-they are exactly 100 years apart). Not only did he turn 3 but it is his first year playing soccer (grasshopper league) and he absolutely loves it. It seems like yesterday that Tyler came into our lives and he is such a blessing. He's the sweetest little boy that anyone could ask for. He just has the biggest heart and is so loving. Our daily morning snuggles are the BEST. He loves his little brother so much and can't stop kissing him. He is also a great example to Zachary. His favorite activities are going to Turtle Bay, playing golf with daddy- because Tyler says he swings like Tiger Woods (yes he knows all the pros by name such as Vijay, Phil Mickleson, and Sergio Garcia and who they are sponsored by), playing baseball with daddy, swimming with his swim coach Alice- so he can swim like "Michael Belps" and playing soccer like Ronaldinho. He loves family day and spending time with his cousins.

Tyler's Kung Fu Panda Birthday Party!

Even though Tyler's birthday isn't until Sept. 6th, Tyler's 3rd birthday party was a blast. Nine of his closest friends got to spend a day full of fun at NorCal Elite Gymnastics Center and run around nonstop for 2 full hours. His theme- Kung Fu Panda. He picked it out himself and had so much fun picking out the party favors! We don't know who had more fun- the kids or their parents! When inviting his cousins and friends to his birthday party, Tyler would say, "Are you coming to my Fu Panda birthday cake party?"

Zachary is crawling!

We can't believe our little guy is crawling and sitting up. It feels like Zachary was just born but then again it has been 6 months. He's is so sweet just like his big brother. Tyler is also excited except Tyler doesn't realize that Zachary is only 6 months and he can't wrestle like a 3 year old.

Ferrari Family Reunion Disneyland 2008

Grandpa and Grandpa Ferrari arranged for the ENTIRE Ferrari Family to spend time together at Disneyland June 23-27, 2008. Having all 28 of the Ferraris together was a true blessing and it was a memory that we will never forget even though Tyler was only 2 1/2 years old and Zachary just turned 4 months so we a little challenged-but they had a blast. Tyler's favorite ride was the waterslide at the Disneyland Grand Hotel and Zachary's favorite ride was his stroller. We were able to go to character dinner which Tyler and Zachary got to meet Pluto, Minnie, Chip and Dale, Snow White, Fairy Godmother and many more characters.
